Christmas has become so de-personalized and is now just another holiday. Minus the kids, would you skip exchanging gifts if family and friends agreed to it?

Festivus for the rest of us!

Since I drop about 100x as many $$$ than I receive it would certainly make sense but I don't see it happening. I (we) have cut out buying gifts for our adult siblings and their significant others but still give to parents, our children and nieces/nephews. But even that has been dialed back to $50 or less, beyond our kids.

I voted yes, but only to receiving gifts. I don’t need anything and usually buy whatever I need/want.

I really enjoy giving gifts to close family like my wife & parents. Christmas isn’t depersonalized in our family.

It's just my wife and I, so as years go by Christmas is basically Tuesday, or whatever day it falls on.

Although we do get somewhat festive. Around this time of year is when you can find the pine scented potty sprays, so that's nice.

I would say yes...even though I enjoy Christmas shopping. It is an expense for members of my family who no longer really have the means.

No possible way with the grandson, is going to get the full 9 yards as far as a traditional Christmas. We do consolidate for the most part, and he gets some toys, but more clothes and practical stuff.

For my family, we have been doing this the past 10 years or so, will make a donation in someone's name and get a nice card we can stick in an envelope.

I get some strange looks when I tell folks I got a pig and 3 chickens for Christmas.

Other than young chilluns I would rather pass on it. All I care about is family getting together for food and fun.

    I’m disappointed.
I thought this was about candy cane strippers poles.

I would prefer the “airing of the grievances”.

I'd be okay with limiting the gift-giving to children.

I actually enjoy Christmas and wife and I will buy each other a gift. Usually something small, or we will get something big for the house. Last year we bought a new leather sectional sofa for the living area. We do buy our daughter something nice usually clothing since she's a teen that's usually what she wants. We always go volunteer at our church also to help the needy. Makes you and your family really think about how fortunate we are.

I also like to decorate the outside of the house with my plastic blow molds. Have 7 various ones like snowmen, santa, mrs. clause, and sled with reindeer.

I would gladly give up gift giving to adults and just give for the kids and grand-kids. tom. :tree:
