    Every year in Sally, SC they have a "Chitlin Strut".
    YUCK.

    I had it boiled and fired but the best are the fried chicken & goat internals. Very tasty.

    I'm really looking forward to trying them again...

    When I was around 18 (I'm 46 now) I sat in on a soul food dinner and tried them...
    They were ugly (bluish-grey) and stinky and I found them a lil' too offensive...

    Since then I've become a serious foodie and some of my favorite things now are properly prepared
    "achurras" (Spanish for innards)...

    I make a mean tripe soup (Menudo) and grilled Sweetbreads...

    I wanna slop on some Chit'lins something fierce...
    If they're truly good food I'll know it...
    I have no apprehensions anymore...

    As soon as I finish typing this I'm gonna Google "Soul food Tampa" and see what happens...
    I thought of it recently but forgot again...

    Being really hungry now sho' helps...
