No! It is our fault. Americans have become addicted to cheap prices and low quality goods and services. No one considers the consequences until their job is threatened by overseas goods or immigrant labor. And as long as we allow this it will continue.

Looks like Walmart Syndrome - some “Good Ole American Boy” / “Spaniard” importing shoddy Chinese stuff to sell to fellow Americans / Spaniards.

    Nothing new here.

    Is “Spaniard” the correct term?

People who actually do business in China,..... meaning people who live and work there while engaged in business,..... say that the Chinese are capable of doing good work but they have to be physically watched every step of the way. Otherwise, they'll play you for a chump.

That's the raw truth that a person has to deal with. Anyone who doesn't have the resolve to watch their operations on a daily basis should not be doing business there.

Woe to you if you buy blindly from a Chinese company.

This is what our one world economy renders. The spider has way to many legs.
Some countries just don’t seem to love thy neighbors. Or their own.

I posted this in another thread, but it bears repeating here:

They don't care about us or the world in general. It is absolutely crucial after this pandemic that Trump order ALL business to cease with China and to bring back manufacturing HERE in THIS country, and hire our own workers. No imports, no exports. China will crumble within a month, if that. That's exactly what I would do, first order of business on my first day in office, if I were president.

F- China, and that's as nice as I can possibly be.

In another thread there is a story that China is suing the United states for releasing the virus. If true it leads me to believe that China released this plague on the world.

We have learned this about 30 odd years ago when power tool manufacture first moved to China. The earliest tools from there were utter junk. Chinese manufacturers met with American tool manufacturers and the earliest models won the contracts. After the production of drills, saws, etc commenced overseas then all of a sudden the tools started to breakdown, fall apart, basically fail in short order. The American corporations figured out pretty quickly that Chinese corps were masters at substituting cheaper alloys, weaker parts and batteries, smaller gauge wiring, etc.

The answer was to install on-site American quality control and force the Chinese mfgrs to honor their contracts and specs.

What we are seeing today is nothing new. But really, we need to bring our manufacturing, and all of those related jobs, back to America. SCREW CHINA!

When I was growing up, Japan was known for crappy products, we used to called it “jap crap”.
Chi es have absolutely no scruples whatsoever. Buyer beware BIG TIME!

I’d trust gas station sushi and 42’s old lady before I trust China.

Every country effected by the Wuhan virus should put a tariff on Chinese imports to pay for medical expenses, loss of productivity and suffering, maybe 10% to 25%. If the worlds needs cheap labor there is always south America and Africa.

Yep. I work for an international heavy equipment manufacturer. About 6 years ago they built a factory in China.
Many of our people went over there to teach them how we manufacture our units. The stories they came back with.
The one that stuck the most in my mind was the total lack of awareness as concerns safety. I was told they were as clueless as toddlers walking around all the heavy equipment being lifted with cranes and hoists.
Another thing that that I can't get out of my head is that our guys would take all day to teach one of them the process used to complete the task at hand and it would be very difficult to get them to understand it but they'd eventually get it. Then they'd go home, come back the next day and it'd be like they never got training at all the day before. Total lack of retention.:faint:

This is playing into my tin foil hat theory that China weaponized Covid19. Unclear of the motive but they hate the West.

My experience was the same 30 years ago. I wanted to buy a vertical milling machine. The seller formerly produced in the USA. "Oh, we have on-site quality control." I knew better. "On-site quality control" really meant "we have guys that fly over on junkets twice a year."

Today. Gee, I don't know how they do it. A guy in the PRC is going to sell me a product make by a quality Japanese brand name in Japan and ship from the PRC cheaper than I can buy it and have it shipped from Japan! Impossible. I must be wrong. This is done all the time on eBay, so I must be wrong.
