Had to have been a metal water bottle. A plastic one would have been much easier to free her tongue from, at least so I would think. If nothing else worked, they could have just cut it away.

If someone would have had the sense to poke a hole in the bottle before her tongue swelled up, I bet it would have saved all that trouble.

You can't sue somebody else if you use common sense in a situation like that.

She was the one that stuck her tongue in there. But now we are all going to have to use soft noodle straws:upeyes:

Tongues can be added to the "nature abhors a vacuum" saying now.

ABC her and then poke a hole in the bottle would have been my first aide (i.e., actions) before getting her to the hospital's ER.

Poor girl, just one of those live and learn kind of things I guess. Hope she turns out okay.

Drill a hole, thread it, screw in a Shrader valve, Pressurize the bottle. Problem solved.

Ya... you would think that, but ask McDonald's about common sense and hot coffee.

There was actually more to that lawsuit than just the hot coffee.

Apparently McDonald's was serving their coffee too hot to drink. The idea was that by the time the buyer realized how bad the coffee was (since it was cheap coffee) they would be too far from the restaurant to take it back.

How many drills, drill bits (and sizes), shrader valves and measurably dispensable (i.e., flow regulated) pressurized cylinders and feet of air hosing should I add to my first aid kit?

The story states that they tried to drill holes and cut the end off, but the swelling was too great.

After they've swelled up to a certain point, tongues are as hard to drill or cut as tungsten. :whistling:

They said the bottle was all the way back to her wisdom teeth. I'll bet she was sucking on the bottle and created the vacuum. Then once her tongue was stuck , the bottle just kept inching it's way further and further back.
