This nutjob is trying to use our new Red Flag law to get revenge on the cop who shot and killed her scumbag son. While this request will likely be refused, what happens if the judge happens to be a leftwing anti-cop whacko? Scary stuff for all law abiding gun owners.

I hope she goes to jail. She lied by claiming the officer was the father of her child, since only a family member, household member or law enforcement officer can file a petition on somebody.

Gonna' make the officer's life a little tough maybe, but if he managed to grow up with the name "Philip Morris" I think he's probably pretty immune to silly stuff.

Do you suppose the DA would be willing to charge and try the mother of the deceased suspect in that area/jury pool, and see her being sentenced to jail announced on the front page of the local papers?

Not saying it ought not happen, or that doing so possibly wouldn't help to deter some others from similar flagrant abuse and misuse of the new law. Just wondering if the local politics would allow for it to happen.

This is exactly what everyone said would happen with red flag laws. Nut jobs would use them as revenge. Too many cases of this.

Probably not. They virtually never charge people who lie against the police or women who lie about domestic violence or sexual assault.

The judge should have put the kibosh to this when it was presented. Now watch everyone who has a beef with the cops to do the same.

What if it was not a LEO? And they situation was known?

Would the door have been busted down, person dragged out, put in jail, every gun tossed in trash can, house left unsecured until court?

Are you kidding me... These people are a blessing. We need to have a trillion of these assclowns going after anyone they have hearburn against. The more public or political the target the better. Red Flag laws are idiotic and ripe for abuse. The more and faster that folks make them meaningless cause a trillin case backlog the better.

Crazy. Folks need to wake up. Actually at an Ohio Stands United meeting now to find out how to get involved and protect all of our rights. Politicians need to know where we all stand on things - sitting back and not being informed hurts all of us.

I would encourage Ohioans to find their local chapter and try to get involved.

Law makers don't have to sit in judgment of them, issue them or enforce them. Not a problem for them.

Well, unless one of them is served with one. :p

Agreed, BUT, it may make them think twice when the lawsuit's start coming in. I`m betting we`re going to hear about some of this BS going before the SCOTUS. That TOO, has its problems with it.
