I will point out ocean water can be processed and become drinking water. It is done in some countries.

I remember what used to happen to the unwashed when I was in the Navy. Sounds like he needs some of that treatment.

None of her presentation was factual. All of her figures were wrong and she completely left out the water cycle.

Don't want to wash off that protective coating but one should still take a bath every spring whether they need it or not.

This thread reminds me of what was said about the mountain men in the 1800's, they took a bath once a year whether they needed it or not.

Just another example of someone trying to come up with an "original" idea that is far enough out there (based on false logic), but is in line with current soy boy trends, so he can write a book and be praised for his unconventional wisdom and insight. At least that is what it smells like.

When I was at Ft Benning we figured out that if you drank enough beer during the 2-3 nights before going to the field that the mosquitos wouldn’t bother us to badly either. But that required getting very seriously blotto’d each night so that fairly well guaranteed a good stiff hangover each morning.

By the time the alcohol finally evaporated enough we would be plenty nasty so mosquitoes were not to bad. (Camo paint along with lots of sweat and dirt.)

Never could figure out what would keep chiggers from having at us though.

That might be a direct challenge to a saying that I know and use: You can’t make everyone happy. You are not bacon.

This made me think of AOC and her smell after five years with no showers. Whew. Get a whiff of Jiff!

I had a roommate at Ft Benning that disproved that theory, I think. Just getting Dudley to take a shower was sometimes an ongoing battle. Pretty sure that he would go and stand under the water and rub his skin but no soap. He stunk so badly, and it was an ongoing battle. Of course Dudley would argue that he did use soap, but anyone who ever had to live or stand/work near him would beg to differ.

One Monday at formation here comes Dudley as ripe as ever. We had been in the field the week prior and got back to garrison on Saturday. The usual complaints about his stench and why didn’t he use soap when he showered which Dudley claimed he did. Then I pointed out that there was still a solid layer of camo paint behind his ears and the back of his neck.

Dudley received help with his bathing habits that night. Problem was that this boy never seemed to learn that lesson for very long.

For those who are near this guy, I recommend the mask with the odor absorbing activated carbon filter...
