midway does not price gouge!
I have never bought anything from CTD. One time a year or two ago I was going to buy two kinds of ammo from them. When I got to the checkout they were going to charge me shipping twice because each type of ammo was going to be shipped from different locations. I called them and asked why are you going to charge me shipping two time for one order. I said tuff luck thats the way it is. I bought from someone else.
They have the right to charge whatever they want and we have the right to buy from someone else. I have no plans to ever buy anything from CTD. Their prices have alway been higher than others.
Never thought about closing my account with them. I think I bought something (ammo or mags ) a couple of years ago and have been getting their stuff ever since. When the 10mm RIA came out, I ordered one, but cancelled before it shipped. Glad I did now. I'm not buying anything else from them either.
After all the money they make off the panic buyers and the laws change, CTD will (I suspect) be relocating to a warmer climate
I doubt they will care at all.
I understand. I don't support them, was just making a point. They did the same thing last election. They're right down the street so when prices go back down ill probably continue going there. Something to think about as well, midway selling 3-4 mags is the same as 1 for ctd. I doubt they're hurting or the prices would be lower

$80 for the 17
$180 for the 33
I wonder if the gouging will effect them in the future.
The title of this thread made me snort my coffee. Hilarious.
Bunch of crooks. What they're doing is not illegal and should not be illegal, but they'll only get to hear about my money from other businesses like MidwayUSA, Brownells, GunUp, Grabagun, and Bud'sGunShop that actually cared to support us.
Bud's is a bit silly on some stuff lately, mostly drum magazines, but I think that's more a distributor/manufacturer pricing issue, as Bud's seems to be holding prices low where possible. Certainly not leaving MSRP choking in the dust like Cheaper Than Dirtbags.
Ive read on a few forums they lost many customers and I hope they lose more. There is even a boycott CTD facebook page with over 17,000 likes. Yeah yeah business is business, supply + demand, F...them
Older but good video

Go to youtube type in, CTD Continued..."High Capacity Magazines" and The Cheaper Than Dirt Chorus.......the part about Dick's Sporting Goods was
I never thought they were too cheap to start with.
The only thing I remember I bought from them was on a sale G3 magazines for $1 a magazines years back.
Only to find out that CDNN had a better deal!
Here the link for the FB http://www.facebook.com/boycottCTD?fref=ts
I will have them delete my account today too.
I can't afford them, they like Tiffany without the quality!
I bought a lot of stuff from them over the years but I'm done now. (Actually, I was done a while ago. )
I laughed when I saw G19 mags for $80. These people are a joke. Natchez has them for $35 - still high but reasonable given what's going on.

This all sounds like the last time CTD did their price gouging. Didn't hurt them then and won't hurt them now. They advertise enough to continue to pull in tons of new customers, so the few they piss off enough to boycott them.
In the short term, I think you're absolutely correct, but things like this tend to accrue over time and sink a business.
CTD did the same in 1994...... Why doesn't anybody remember? I'm not that old
I'm sure it will.
I support their right to set "market prices" -but as noted 10x, Midway and others aren't.
Will I shop at CTD again? I'll remember this when I need something someday and only buy it there if I cannot get it at one of the other places first.
That's just me - I'm not angry about it at all - it is just business, but I think we'll remember.
