In the past; specifically, prior to 12/14/12.

A wonderful example of Capitalism at Work.

The last time I looked the US Army was buying 30 round metal mags for $6.50 each. Of course they buy 500,000 at a time.

What, nobody remembers just 4 years ago, during the "Obama panic" when they jacked up the price of .380 ammo when it started to get scarce?

This is no surprise at all.

Well you look around and tell me where else you can find some in stock. They have some so they can sell them for whatever the want. You would have to be crazy to buy them for that much though.

I fail to see how people get so upset over what a company is charging for an item. If you don't like it don't buy it. Go try to find it somewhere else if you can, but I bet you will have a hard time finding any.

Brownell's will still let you backorder some high-cap Glock mags for less than $30, but I have no idea how long their back-order waiting time might be. It could take months for you to get them.

Why people still buy from CDT I'll never know. They did the exact same thing in 2008. They are the biggest gougers you'll ever see. But since their name is "Cheaper ....." and they sell guns, the sheep flock to them and pay whatever it takes to get-em-sum-guns.

I think the problem is people flipping mags and AR's and they aren't helping keep prices down either.

I stopped into their McKinney location yesterday just to heck out the scene. They have a bunch of ARs in stock at about double what they had them for when I was there about three weeks ago. Windhams were the cheapest at $1500 or $1600 (I don't quite remember). Plain Jane Bushmasters were $1800.

I wonder if any of the manufacturers of these products including guns have raised their prices? Or is it just the retailers?

I went to a gun show here last weekend. People didn't seem very excited, other than some of the suburban looking people coming from Indiana, who didn't understand why they couldn't buy guns and take them home.

The highest priced AR magazines I saw were new in palstic for $30 and they weren't selling. Nothing really seemed jacked up, but I didn't check the prices on AR's and AK's.

Agreed. I wait until the panic buyers have to pay their credit card bill or mortgage and realize they can't sit on the stuff forever. There have already been some people on the nevada shooters forum trying to unload stuff they bought during the initial panic. They're trying to get what they paid for it and I just laugh. Dude bought a Colt 6940 for $1800 and 5 pmags for like $50 each and thinks he's actually gonna get that back.
