I was looking on eBay to see about a commercial FCC certified radio. One ad caught my attention because of the price. After some resaerch I found out that this radio was NOT FCC certified for sale in the US. Use extreme caution if you see any of these radios for sale. Some brands include:

    Jingtong
    Quansheng
    Linton
    Kington
    KYD
    Kensung
    Wouxun
    Abell
    Feidaxin
    Puxing
    Weierwei

Just for fun I emailed one of the sellers on eBay and asked them for the FCC certification number. Here is the response:

    Rich.
A lot of folks are aware of this but the new guys aren't and the word definitely needs to get around.
Thanks for researching some of the "names".
Do you mind if I copy your post to other forums?? I'll remove your "ID" of course...

    Thanx..FN

Please do! It really bothers me when people flaunt the law this way. There seems to be a lot of interest in GMRS and FRS and I can see someone thinking this would be a cheap way to get into GMRS.
