not sur if this is a repost but
    http://www.charlesdalyforum.com/showthread.php?t=1744

To all our friends, fans, supporters and consumers of Charles Daly and by extension, KBI products, I regret to inform you that the rumors of our demise are true.

KBI is going out of business and closing its doors, effective today.

I don't want to go into each and every detail as to why this has occurred, except to say that there have been a multitude of events over the past five years that have contributed to our current situation.

For those of you with ongoing service requirements, please be advised that we are currently negotiating with several companies that will be performing after-sale service of Charles Daly, CD Defense and Jericho firearms. As soon as we have finalized a contract with one of these companies we will post the name, address and contact details of that company so you will know who to contact to obtain service on your KBI firearm.

We will allow this forum to remain open as long as all discourse remains civil. If any posts deteriorate to a level that is beneath the standards of this forum then the forum will be closed to all posters and will only exist for announcements from KBI.

Again, I wish to thank all of you that have supported our company, this forum and Charles Daly these past 20 years. This spells the end of KBI but I imagine it will certainly not mean the end of Charles Daly and CD Defense. Look for this excellent brand to resurface in the very near future.

    Sincerely,

Not entirely surprising given the economy and the market. Given the climate, people are going to buy from more well known names. Still though, I never like to hear of a firearms manufacturer going under.

Wow. That is really bad news. Granted, I don't own any CD firearms but it can't be good anytime a distributor/rebrander like CD goes under. They offered a really nice line of 1911s built on the Armscor guns.

I hate to hear them going under to but it was only a matter of time for them.
I had the misfortune of buying one a while back and it was nothing but trouble. it wouldnt feed no matter what i did. i tried calling them up an got some snooty ***** that blamed me for the problem and then told me i could send it in at my cost and that i probabley would not see it for several month's, i went out and sold it the next day.
they have been promiseing this super 1911 for over a year now and that never panned out.

Daly was just the salesmen. Armscor and Bul were the gunmakers. That was what killed them. How many renamed RIA's do we need?

I believe that the importer, KBI, is still afloat to import things like the Jericho, et al.

I own a Charles Daly shotgun and I've been very happy with it. Hopefully it won't break as I probably won't be able to get parts now, but for $250 brand new I guess I get what I paid for.
