I just bought a G21SF and it came with the Glock night sights. I want to swap them out for XS Big Dots. My buddy has a rear sight pusher. My question is, what do I have to do to remove the front sight without destroying it? Anyone have any directions posted somewhere?

    Thanks!

Just take the slide off, take some tweezers and pull the plastic wick/post on the inside of the front sight post out.

Then take a small round dowel and carefully tap the bottom on the front sight from the inside of the slide.

Should pop right out. Did it a couple days ago.

Will that ruin the front sight?

    Thx.

Unfortunately, the front sight may be staked in place and if so, you're not too likely to be able to re-use it.

If it has a screw retaining the front sight, you may be able to re-use it.

Wife's 19 is wedge/pinned. My 21 is staked. I see how to remove the wedge/pinned. But how do I remove the staked with out ruining it?

Thx for the great and FAST responses.

    That's the problem.

Staking it on bends the metal, removing it bends it back.....and bending metal like that weakens it and makes it unlikely that it can be re-used and still be secure.

Some of yall have gotten confused here. A front GLOCK factory night sight cannot be re-used 99% of the time. It is staked on, and removing it damages it.

Yall may be thinking of the sotck plastic sight, which if removed correctly, can be re-used.

He has the GLOCK factory night sights, he said so in the first post. Unless he is confused, and has factory installed mepros, which are bolted on.

You can't remove the GNS front sight without ruining it.

Thanks guys. The XS Big Dots, which I love, should be in any day now and I'll make the swap.

Do you all recommend red lock tite for the rear dove tail?

    Thx.

Is the only aftermarket sight I'll ever put on a Glock.

Got my Big Dots yesterday, removed the Glock sights, cleaned the slide and installed the BD's. Nothing to it.

Thanks for all of your help!
