When I right click on a picture it opens a box that has "Save a Picture as" when I click on it another box is opened that has "My
Picture" box. Now here is the problem, it gives me the option to save the picture in Bitmap only. Is there a way to change it to save all pictures in gif or jpeg???

When I try all I get is Bitmap........Grrrr!

You need a photo editing program to change formats. And usually, you have to have that program running to change the format.

There is one program that lets you do it "on the fly" but it's not freeware or shareware. The name escapes me.

For example, Acoustica makes a MP3->WAV converter "on the fly" which is pretty nice. Just 2 mouse clicks and it's converted

    Free for personal use.

There was a thread around here a while ago about this and it turned out that you have to clean out your cache. Internet Explorer, right?

Search this forum for save picture bmp and see what that gets you.

I've got irfanview installed. Maybe that's why every once in a while it lets me save a picture in gif instead of bitmap.

I would like to save antimated pictures and if I save them in bitmap I only get still pics.

I did that search and all I find is this one here...

MS Paint will do it. Click File/Save As/Save As Type.

I'm assuming you mean from within internet explorer.
If so then try this. Worked for me in the past.

I will also add another vote for IrfanView - it's "Da Bomb" when it comes to format converting & creating thumbnails for web pages.
