Ready to buy the no name 1911A1 from CDNN. Can get it under $400 shipped to local FFL. I really like the plain-jane finish (no forward slide serrations, no huge roll marks, standard ejection port, no FPS). Anyone have any experience with this firearm? My credit card is getting itchy...

I believe that it is a 1911 produced by S.A.M. (Shooters Arms) in the Phillipines. For the money, these are a really good bargain and good pistols.

    SAM builds a solid 1911.

I think those are the Regent R100, made in turkey, that they are selling.

I think that CDNN sells both the Filipino and Turkish guns. From the photos in the catalog, I can't tell which Filipino manufacturer though.

Are the slides cast or forged on these?

The article I read on the Regent guns said they were cast frames and slides.
