Hey GT, I am new to firearm ownership. I am about to turn 21 and have been test firing several pistols and found that I love the G27 with the Pearce pinky mag plate. I have a few questions I hoped some experienced carriers could answer:

1) What kind of holster do you use and why?
2) What accessories do you recommend?
3) What loadout (round type IE hydrashock, hallow point, glazer, etc) do you use?

Thanks for your time and any help!

Hey there Gelly...

1) I use a Comp-Tac Paddle holster with the FBI cant as I've found it to be a quick and quiet draw, additionally, the paddle allows me to remove and replace the holster easily when entering no-gun zones (school, post office, work, etc.) or when adjusting it while in my vehicle.

2) The only accessories I use are a grip sleeve and night sight on the front of my G17.

3) I use 124 gr. +P Speer Gold Dots as my carry ammo.

For what it's worth. Good luck!
Congrats on CCW! :crying:

Galco Royal Guard. I've carried one for coming up on 20 years now and it works well.

2) What accessories do you recommend?
GUN BELT. You're going to go through a handful of holsters until you find one you like and is more comfortable than the others. Until you get a gun belt you will not know what I'm talking about when I say that makes all the difference in the world. Not "a good, thick belt" a belt that is made to carry a firearm.

3) What loadout (round type IE hydrashock, hallow point, glazer, etc) do you use?
Go to the gun store and get a box of each type of modern hollow point. Shoot the whole box. If it runs 100% in your gun it's an option. If you get a single stoppage that ammo is no longer in the running to carry.

After you've narrowed it down like that, ask the cops around your area what they carry. If that's one of the types that is 100% in your gun, carry that. Otherwise, whatever modern hollow point is on sale is just about as good as any other modern hollow point.

I don't care if you find out you must only shoot FMJ ammo, if that's the only thing that goes 100% in your gun, then that's what you carry.
