I'm staying at a hotel (off the strip) next week and visiting casinos and restaurants. I won't be seeing any shows at venues. Are you aware of any casinos, hotels or restaurants that have metal detectors at their entrances, or other non-permissive environments that I should be aware of?

I apologize in advance if this has been addressed ad nauseum before. I can't search threads on my phone, and my phone is my only option today.

Conceal with confidence. The only NPE's are concerts and sporting events.

Not aware of metal detectors at any Hotel/Casino entrances. Shows & events are a different story.

Point of order: Does your state's (I'm guessing Utah) CCW permit have reciprocity with NV?

Yes, mine is a Utah resident permit.
Edit: And Utah and Nevada have mutual reciprocity.

North Las Vegas Police will try to convict you of something. This is the "Dirt Ball" Capital of Nevada. Becareful in a traffic stop if you are armed. :dunno:

    That was so 2015

Nevada SB 175 AND SB 240 repealed all of those laws they tried to convict you of. Preemption laws got rid of N las vegas, boulder city shenanigans and clark county blue card BS. Not to mention allows individuals and special interest groups to sue politicians and agencies who violate the preemption laws.

If you decide to visit bolder dam you are not allowed to have a gun in your car or on your person.

I will never be out that way, but a great post to have here just the same.

Gun laws in obscure (for rhe average guy anyway), places is great information to have just the same.

To often police are unfamiliar with gun laws in their jurisdiction or are quite happy to arrest first and sort it out later.

But then that is the "prime directive" of confusing gun legislation to start with.

    That is the simple answer.
North Las Vegas continues to abuse gun owners during traffic stops. That is a simple answer. They have a strict city gun law? Has no one challenged it in court?

When the governor signed the aforementioned bills it removed the discretion, or lack of it, you refer to. Unfortunately we did have a "Red Flag" law enacted in the last session of the legislature. Fortunately the Nevada legislature only meets for a few months every other year. Gives them much less time for mischief.

Sporadic radical open carry turds who flaunt it that's about it. Otherwise not many issues from what I have seen since about late 15 to early 16 after law passed.

I had a traffic accident that was not my fault. Armed and had a permit. My experience with NLVPD was positive and drama free even after declaring I was armed with permit. Didn't even disarm me. Go figure.

    Was your experience different ?

NLV PD works in a tough place. I know a couple of the officers there and they tell me they refer to a CCW as a "good guy card." We are the least of their problem in many parts of North Las Vegas.

Nevada doesn't recognize Missouri CCW license.

I'd just leave it in my hotel safely locked up and stay in well lit populated areas. Being taken to jail really ruins a vacation

I can tell you how it goes. I was there last weekend walking in an out of casinos and all over the strip with a concealed weapon and valid permit. I go there at least twice a month either because my wife wants to go shopping or we are meeting people from out of town who are visiting.

Just cant go into concerts some shows depending on venue and sporting events as they have metal detectors.

Post-trip report. Sorry it's nearly 8 months late.

Long story short, I had no issues. My wife drove, and she's much more sedate at the wheel than I am, so we had no traffic stops. We walked the strip, saw a lot of casinos, ate a lot of great food and had no problems with anyone.

Thanks to all who offered input.
