What exactly is ccleaner and what does it do? What are its positives and what are its negatives. Can it harm your computer?

    Thank you

The latest version without the optional Yahoo tool bar seems pretty safe.Originally it fixed a flaw in Windows 98 that when Disk Cleanup was run it didn't clean temp files. This was a bug in Win 98 that MS never fixed. In Windows XP that's not a problem but cleaning the regictry and prefetch and additional browser temp files Ccleaner really helps. It also gets rid of known "bad" cookies.A new program(Advanced WindowsCare) is due out in 2 days that maintainsa bunch of Windows things.I've been testing it and so far it seems safe too.

Latest "Lite" version of Ccleaner here
