Any cat (or dog) owners have tricks for keeping your pets out of the Christmas tree? Last year, Abby made the tree fall twice, so we moved the tree into a room with a door, so we could lock her out at night. Now we have a kitten who fears nothing, not even fear itself. And we can't spray him with water, because he likes it!

Any help would be greatly appreciated, because I love my Christmas tree and want to be able to keep it out in public view this time!

    Thanks.

We put all the breakable ornaments on top. Or leave them off completely.

Our tree sits in a corner where we shut off the heat vent but the warm air still drifts up and gets trapped under there. From the time the tree goes up until it comes down, Missy will pratically live under there in the warmth.

With kitty here this year.... Whew boy! She is a climber and also knows no fear.

I guess that it has to do with which part of poland you are from. Im am from the western part, near the german border. Each part of poland has its separate traditions. I guess this is an eastern polish tradition. I have never heard, nor has my family of upsidedown trees in my part of poland. I only know other polish people from the west, so i guess i need to ask someone from the east.

For the price I'll pass on this jewel!

My first indoor cat Patches would knock all the glass ornaments off the tree to about 36" off the floor and bat them around if they didn't break.

When my bro had an iguana, we always had to be careful around Christmas time. While my cats love to play with the ornaments, they never tried to climb the tree. The iguana being a tree-dweller in its natural habitat, however, would. YIKES! Dunno what advice to give ya.

I hear if you spray vinegar around the bottom, they will keep away from it.
