I couldn't find the thread I originally talked about this in, but I finally got a pic of my parents' tabby with their German shepherd. The cat is a feral named Xini and the shepherd is named Cindy.

Haha...the cat doesn't look very happy though. But yeah, sure they can be friends! I have two dogs and two cats. Only the new 6 month kitten hisses at my dogs, but she's getting used to them and she only hisses when they startle her.

A wood stove on a cold day brings them together.

She's feral, she always looks like that. She is happy! The dog is probably nervous though.

Our nextdoor neighbor's Dobie used to nap with one of her kitties cuddled up between her front legs against her chest :hearts:

Yesterday I went to help my parents cut up some carpet for a project they're working on and Dad's two bed buddies were snuggled up again.

I had a Manx tom cat, Tigger, he grew up next door to 4 Golden retriever pups. The neighbor keep one pup and when she grew to adulthood Tigger and her would play like litter mates in the neighbor's back yard. :hearts:

The late great Scruffy the Cat used to cozy up on the couch with Sally Beagle for afternoon naps and grooming sessions. When Scruffy died, the beagle pined so bad we had to get her a kitten. Willie Bite and Sally became backyard squirrel rangers together. When Sally had puppies, Willie (a neutered male) would climb into the box with the puppies and lay down with them.

Scruffy also used to ride in my bike messenger bag and help drive my old Volvo. She was a remarkable cat.

My Aussie always thought it was terribly embarrassing to be used as a cat-pillow, but he was too polite to say anything about it.

Is that a rabbit in the background, underneath the bed or whatever it is??

Doesn't look like a live rabbit. Looks like crockery or resin. We have house-bunnies. They don't like each other, but they do seem to like the bird. The definitely do not like the dog (wolf-husky). Of course, the dog really wants to play with the rabbits!

It's a carved wooden rabbit that we got at a gift shop in Key Largo for $5. We liked it because he has kind of a disturbed expression like he might go off at any time.:)

Well... I can't wait to show my guy your pic of the German Shephard and kitty together. I have two pups, and he has a cat. I've been wondering if there's hope. Thanks for the light at the end of the tunnel. :)

Funny thing is, my alpha-bunny frequently has the same expression. She's got as much personality as any dog or cat, and definitely has no idea she's smaller than some of my shoes.

We took in an orange tabby when my son's neighbors moved and left him behind. Both our dogs love him from day one. (Golden retriever and Silky terrier). After we'd had him for a couple of days my wife went to take him to the vet for a check up. When she got out in the driveway she could hear the dogs howling at the back door. I think they were afraid she was taking the cat away forever.
