    Hey gang,
For some strange reason, I have a desire to carry my S&W 686+ 6". I already have a shoulder rig for it, but am thinking about belt carry. Who carries a big ole long revolver like mine and what holster do you use?
    Thanks

I have some revolvers I have CCW holsters for, but I draw the line at 4"...

I use a lot of Galco holsters because they're readily avaliable, affordable for leather, and quality... But I don't think they offer a belt holster for a 6".

I would look at either Tucker Gun Leather or Simply Rugged

I have an IWB from Tucker for a auto, but no revolver gear, but it looks great on their site.

I don't have any gear from Simply Rugged, but they have been highly recommended to me.

Only in as a field or hunting gun, but any of the pancake style belt rigs will spread the load. It is not for CCW, nothing but a trench coat is going to hide that long a bbl.

CABO (Carry A Big One) makes an IWB that actually works with a 6" 686 because it carries the revolver higher than other rigs, keeping the cylinder above the belt line. The holster looks too simple to be really effective, but I found it comfortable, concealable (under a jacket), and easy to access.
