I have been carrying 45 acp for many many years and I have been shooting 10mm lately.
Now I am having a debate with myself which cal should I carry?
    10mm or 45acp?

I shoot both equally well and size and weight makes no difference to me at.

So come on everyone convince me which cal would be better to carry?

Whichever one you shoot better... You will make far bigger difference than the difference between the two calibers.

I agree, shoot the biggest, badest caliber you can. It's no diff than hunting DG, more is always better if you can shoot it.

lots of good advice so far. To be different, & hopefully not start a caliber war, I'll be different & say to go w/45acp. This is based on ammo costs & availability. You may be OK w/how things are now, price & availability wise, but as we all found out the hard way, you never know what can happen.

With the 10mm in the same size pistol you get an extra couple rounds...

It's a 5 minute plus drive for me to reach a county road, so out here on the property I carry a number of different calibers, including the 10mm. I go to town several times a month, and when I do, it's a Colt 1911 in .45 auto.

Both are nice, I'd choose .45.

    My opinion:
    Urban environment: .45
    Woods: 10mm
