Carry a handgun with climbing harness on?

Is a shoulder holster the only way?

I always wear a safety harness in a ladder in climbing stand. With a gun on my belt it barely fits and is very uncomfortable. Not to mention access to the gun is blocked with the harness tightened up.

Obviously I have a rifle with me when hunting but I still prefer to have a concealed handgun on me when hunting.

What does everyone else do?

I've got a little chest pack that doesn't interfere with a backpack. It's a cheap generic version. Hill people gear is the real deal quality one.

I have a chest holster. So that would be another option you could explore.

pocket carry my sig365, jacket pocket..
Last year I pocket carried my J frame .38

I would like to carry more gun that if possible. Today I forgot about the harness issue and wore my Glock 23 OWB and it just wasn’t going to work.

Guess I am looking into some type of chest harness, belly band type holster.

I have been using my Tanker's leather shoulder holster lately while trapping to keep a fullsize pistol towards the top of my waders and hopefully out of the water. That would work with a climbing holster and I think be comfortable, but then again I started wearing one in the 80s on tanks, so I'm used to it.

Here it was today when my daughter and I were leaving the swamp after checking traps. Notice the sweat? That's where my waders come too and it's a lot easier to access in this holster than on my belt.
