I hate to give up $100, but they had me listed as an Amateur in MajorSub. Some lucky guy is going to get the cash, and yes I've already notified GSSF.

Also, I noticed nearly everywhere else, the guy that won MatchMeister got a gun and was usually in MasterStock, then MasterStock's gun devolved to #2. I was hoping that would happen here so I could get the devolved gun in Unlimited since #2 MasterStock won Unlimited. Just my luck I guess that this match would be different.

i think they assign the winners through all of the categories first. then they assign matchmeister and another winner in the same category as the matchmeister. the gun cant devolve to #2 in MS in this case because he has already been declared the winner in UL. at least i think thats the way it works;g

nice shooting, especially for someone that doesnt shoot much gssf...

Thanks! I wasn't expecting a score in the 40's with iron sights and no comp, but it happened somehow.

I'm with ya on your explanation, but that is not how they have done it so far in 2004. It seemed that for this match, they did it different.

40's with iron sights is cooking. :) Help me out, what match has the second place Stock Master shooter won Unlimited and not received the gun for his Unlimited win? I only looked at this years results.

    matt,

i think what you saw earlier in the year was the same person winning both MS and UL categories outright. normally, i think they go by entry # when awarding the gun in these situations; lower entry # wins a gun, the higher entry # gets the $25 entry fee returned. however, i think the matchmeister win will override that (meaning, if the MS winner is also the matchmeister, that entry will be awarded the gun regardless of the order of the entries).

at your match, the person ahead of you in UL didnt actually win the MS category. if he had you would have gotten your gun. so i think you missed out on a gun b/c carver beat clemens by less than 1 second in MS! ;)

from the looks of your scores, if you enter a few more matches you'll end up winning a gun or two...

Ok, that makes some sense. I just couldn't figure out how they were deciding that.

Also, I used my USPSA Production gun for UL, a G35 with Vanek trigger, Vanek modified Heinie sights, KKM barrel.

Tried to use the same gun in Stock until Julie G. reminded me I can't do that. So....I used the only other gun I had, a stock G30 with Trijicons that I was going to use in MajorSub. I barely had the ammo to shoot both of those divisions. I went balls to the wall in Stock, because I knew I was at a horrible disadvantage. Oh well, it was fun and it was a learning experience.

A correction has been made to the FINAL results for Carrollton, TX match. A master class shooter advised that he was inadvertently chosen to win the Amateur MajorSub award. GSSF has reviewed the resuls and reposted the awards.

    Congratulations to Donna Clemmons!
