There is a high percentage of the population that is medicated one way or the other.

I always assumed the politico's were more highly medicated than most.

Dumb Asp pharmacist is going to be in big trouble if he doesn't keep his mouth shut.

.....and we already know that we need term limits for a whole bunch of reasons.

Truly a place where Dr Kevorkian could have done a lot of good.

From my standpoint, I'm required to take drug tests and so are many other professions. -Too numerous to call out but these folks don't have to prove anything to cast votes on everything from sending your kid to fight a war, to spending and oversight that affect the who country's welfare. A pilot must be clean since he has responsibility for a small planeload of people to worry about and these folks have the entire country in their hands. Didn't think much about the pharmaceutical end of this until I read the article.

Remember that Congressman. If memory serves me (no pun intended) Hank Johnson? When he was quizzing some General at a Capitol Hill that wanted to put 25K more Marines in Guam. He was afraid that the extra weight of the Marines might tip Guam over. How that General maintained his composure is beyond me.

    Who said term limits.

Mmmm ... patient confidentiality is by law, not ethical by med standards and crosses mores.

Maybe we should let Rush pontificate since he knows a bit about lawyers, OxyContin and calling people out while a junkie.

    Sir,
Rush for all of his foibles is not an elected member of our Government, representing we the people in very important matters.
Rush is but a mere private citizen.

I don’t know, we in the medical community are as terrified of HIPAA as everyone is of the irs. I find it hard to believe, barring a terminal diagnosis, someone would throw away their career spilling the beans.

The average age of Representatives and Senators is around 60. I’d be more surprised if a lot weren’t taking medication.
