    Hey all,

All this stuff about the safari hunts in the news has got me thinking about something that's on my Bucket List, a Cape Buffalo Hunt using a classic Double Rifle. So, I thought I would ask you all what you think.

If you were going to go on a Cape Buffalo hunt and could pick any country to hunt in, where would you go and why? Then if you could hunt them with any rifle you wanted, what would you pick and why?

Of course if Cape Buff is not your thing, feel free to add your bucket list safari hunt critter. For me though I just could never hunt any cat at all. I don't have anything against those that do as long as it's a LEGAL and ETHICAL hunt.

    What's Your Thoughts?

    Thanks all.

Either my 404 jeffery, 458 Lott, or my 9.3 x74 double rifle.

If I could afford it I'd buy a Krieghoff Double rifle in .470 NE. Other priorities now so I'd use either the .416 Rigby or .404 Jeffery in my safe. Probably the .404

You really can't go wrong with any of the traditional safari cartridges in .40 caliber and above for Buffalo.

There are several outfitters in the Limpopo area that would be great.

    Rifle... a 375 H&H or 416 Rigby

Think of the excitement and pics if you used a paint ball gun in the Limpopo area

The owner of a LGS near me has taken about 6 Cape Buffs with a 7x57.

    I'd go to the Cape.

    With a blunderbuss.

Use a knife, be a man, and make it a fair hunt.

The buffalo ain't got no knife. Hand to hand (hoof) combat would be the only 'fair' way.

It's not on my bucket list but if it was I would buy a drilling. I think two shotgun barrels and one rifle barrel. A .375 H&H with two 12 gauge barrels might work.

Make sure the buffalo you shoot doesn't have a name like Terry the buffalo or all of America and the world will want your head on a spike.

Seems that a double rifle is the traditional choice for dangerous game there and I believe I have read that some places have a minimum caliber in the area of 375 H&H.
