I tried selling my Springfield XD through my FFL buddy on GunsAmerica. After 5 months I took it off the market (didn't really have to sell it but was testing the waters).

    (Warning for potential sellers)

Went to pick up my pistol today and guess what.....I had to pay a $15 NICS to get my own gun back. My FFL buddy was sympathetic, he told me the state will do this in case someone becomes unfit for firearms posession while they are attempting to sell a gun. Next thing he told me was that the state is now looking into a law to mandate a permit to get your own gun back.

NICS on returned consignments are Federal law.

Want to hear one better? Starting this year, it got worse.

When you do consignment, you are technically selling the gun over to the store. To get the firearm back, you need to have nics done.

For handguns it is worse now. If your handgun does not sell, not only do you need another NICS check... You need a new Pistol Permit!
