Pards, I found I was allergic to canola oil after several years of occasionally getting deathly sick from restaurant food. Since then, I've run across others who have the same problem.

Because small amounts of canola oil can be found in almost any type food these days, it is difficult to identify the cause of severe stomach problems if canola oil is the culprit.

If you experience severe unexplained indigestion and/or stomach cramps (similar to food poisoning symptoms) within hours of eating, and the symptoms last from a few hours to 10 days, canola oil could be the cause.

The treatment that works best for me is one Tylenol #3 tab taken as soon as the first symptoms appear. If that fails to correct the problem, I have to take an antibiotic (CIPRO) for 5-7 days.
