Aunt/Mother in the hospital after a bad stroke. Much stress and no hard answers in sight. Just time and therapy. The most important person in my life forever changed, with 3 parts of her brain dead.

My job moved me from one location to another, much busier location, so job stress is higher. More money, but longer commute in this God awful traffic.

My beloved 2012 5.0 Mustang was creamed in a drive-way today by a client, taking out the front driver's side fender completely. This is the 4th time in 17 months and 11k miles of ownership the car has been smashed while parked.

It is said that The Lord only gives us what we can handle. I believe somewhere there has been miss-communication.:faint::faint:

Are they paying for the damages?

Yes, this time the person that hit my car was known to me, and they're taking care of it.

    The first 3 times, no.

Still, the car is just a minor annoyance at this time. I would be very distraught over it if I didn't have a few, much more important issues to deal with.

I am very thankful that this small annoyance will be taken care of relatively painlessly.

Yes, but not in some "family tree that doesn't branch" sort of way.

My Mother died when I was a few days old, so my Aunt (my Mother's Sister) has filled that role in my life. She is everything to me, but such happenings are part of life.

    I'm having a few beers.

I've been living a very clean life-style, plenty of sleep, TONS of exercise, strong work performance. I've been focused on staying with my normal routine, and actually improving it a bit to combat the stress. More time working out, better diet, etc. It's been working really well.....keeping me sane.

Just need to decompress for a minute.

I cannot find the words to describe my appreciation for yours.

    Other than "thank you".

Better salary with commute - cost of gas/maintenance/time/health affects sometimes isn't as good as a lower paying job closer to home. I use to have to commute 1.5 hours to work and I feel your pain.

Salary is not part of the equation. I'm 100% commission as a Kitchen Designer, as we all are.

My new posting could really put me deep in money. If my first week at my new location is a good indicator, things will be good. My co-worker makes 6 figures, and I'm better at my work.

So, the job thing should be a positive over time, but I'm trying to work with clients spread out over a larger area as I finish up with clients from my previous location, and at the new location....at the same time. So I'm on the road a lot......getting my car hit.:rofl:

She's still in my prayers. I saw firsthand what a stroke can do, and if you ever want to talk, I'm a PM away. Really hoping she can make a great recovery.

Thank you very much for your kind words and offer.

Watching a loved one suffer a stroke, and the subsequent times of deep concern, stress, and forced need for patience is very trying.

I am a deeply type A-A personality, so I want answers, action and improvements NOW!!. As you well know that just doesn't happen with these situations. It is plainly obvious that at this very point she is not even close (personality wise) to the sweet, loving person that she was. She is angry, combative and nasty, all of which may be due to the "ICU psychosis" of the long list of drugs that she is currently on. So we really have no idea of who she will become as she recovers.

Patience is the key, but that's part of my character that is sorely in short supply.

Best of luck with her recovery. I will keep her in my Presbyterian prayers.

I'll say this for almost certain, some of the personality change is permanent. We have no idea yet what the change will be, and how noticeable, but there WILL be some change. It may be weeks or months before you can see what she'll be like for the long haul. I just hope it's not a change that damages relationships.

Me too. She has many, many deep and long standing relationships she has built over her life time of being the sweet person she is.
