Wanted to use my GEN 2G 19 slide on a GEN 3G 23 frame to utilize the rail for a weapon light

is the ejector for the 40 caliber going to be a problem or do I have to replace all internal parts on the lower G 23 frame?

Yes, you can swap the slide.
Some say that you need to change the ejector.
I've not had any issues using a 19 slide on my 23.
I say, run it without changing it and see how reliable it is.
I have a few 19 mags but the 9mm run fine in my 23 mags.

Glock replaced my Gen 1 frame with a 2 pin Gen 3 frame in 2000. Works great.

Be prepared to put 9mm Trigger Mechanism Housing part 322 with Ejector part 336 in the Gen3 G23 frame. That's a small thing to do for a less half-a$$ed conversion if you intend to use the result as a weapon and not just a range toy.

What's unclear is why you wish to create a pieces-parts hodgepodge weapon in an inferior caliber in place of your existing G23. Have you considered the Glock sanctioned conversion of your Gen3 G23 to the excellent 357SIG caliber, which requires only an OEM G32 barrel?

I think he wants to use a weapon light on his weapon. I won't argue caliber choice, I choose.357 Sig personally. I also think Glock sanctions the use of 9mm by making them available. Just my thoughts.

What are you talking about? The fact that Glock makes 9mm pistols is no Glock sanction for kludge conversions of a G23 to 9mm. An OEM G19 slide assembly on an OEM G23 frame assembly is NOT a Glock-sanctioned configuration. An OEM G32 barrel in an OEM Gen3 G23 is.

Mike I respect your knowledge. The problem with reading most of your posts is you tend to drift from the topic. The OP states they want to use a light with their existing weapons parts. It is clear that is what they want to do. If they change the two parts you list, will they not have a functional weapon?

The frame is the frame is the frame.... until you go to 5th gen. If it was a stripped frame and you didn’t have access to any serial number day base, you wouldn’t know if it was a 19/23/32 base.
