Here is a Photo from Iraq showing the Camel Spiders that run around the desert over there...they can run up to 10MPH.

I would freak if I saw one of those coming at me, they are not poisonous, but the bite will cause shock and possibly infection. I hate spiders.

If I was in a hole over there under fire from Iraqi soldiers and also saw one of those spiders, I would have to take out the spider first I think...me and spiders just dont get along...I might just have to pack a 50cal around over there just to feel safe from the spiders......;z

Is that a joke? That is the most horrific creaure I've ever seen. The M16A2 holds 31 rounds and it would get all mine.

I sure hope hope they can't swim, I would hate to see something like that make it to the states.....I get the heebie geebies from just a small brown house spider, so that thing would definetly get a load of 12 guage from me...LMAO

Not trying to scare anyone, but they don't need to swim to get to the US - that's what ships and airplanes are for, and IIRC, there's quite some traffic going on right now, with war etc.

I freak when I see a 2 inch wide Wolf spider, that one would definately get a blast from a shotgun from me!

I remember on Nationa Goeographic an archeologist was saying that he had a guide wake up with his nose eated off by one of these. Or is that different species of spider?

    But, they're edible!

(Besides, I read that they are harmless-- except to other spiders.)

One of my co-workers had brought in some pictures from his time in Iraq, and one of the shots was the photo above. He was not aware that it had been posted on the net so I'm guessing that several other cameras were available at the time that photo was made. One other shot that I really enjoyed was one of him relieving himself on a portrait of Saddam; pretty funny.
