You may keep it at my house, if that would ease your suffering.
Thank you for your most generous offer and willingness to make such a noble sacrifice.
Nope, I like it enough to hang onto it.
If you change your mind, I’ll drive to you.
sorry guys. i just voted and broke the tie. By a wide and overwhelming majority, the 9mm is the superior cartridge! Its settled.
The more the merrier.
I prefer .45 because... America but I edc a 9mm because of practicality.
I thnk its a little more complicated than that; bullets weapon size your own ability. I will always love the 45acp, especially in a 1911, but I mostly carry a g26 or g19.
I like and voted for the .45. The reason that these discussions go on forever, though, is that they all work.
Being that i live in a 10rd mag restricted commie state, a 9mm vs 45acp, kinda moot to me.
A bit of a toss up for me, i happen to shoot the 45 a little better vs the 9.
Just to add to the headache, the law still states that we can only carry 7rds in our mag`s.
So i carry a M&P Shield 45 PC (4in non-ported) 1 in the pipe, 7 in the mag.
I didn't vote.
I have only owned 9mm in the choice involved and I've been very happy with it. This evening a 9mm will be on the bedstand with a 10-round magazine inserted. I CCW a 9mm approximately 80% of the time, always urban environments, with .357sig available for a wider range of applications.
I think the biggest chance of my ever having to draw and fire a pistol will come from a carjacking attempt, and a co-worker's sub-compact 6-round .45ACP is sorely tempting me to buy another caliber I don't want to justify. I know 9mm has better penetration characteristics than .45ACP but in such a situation I don't think I'll be shooting through glass unless it's already been shattered. In that scenario at close range I suspect .45ACP might be a better fight stopper.
However, if Congress sends me another $1,200 check ...
This is the most important vote you will make this year. You can make a difference in the outcome. Vote!
9mm and 45 aarp. if you're gonna carry an antiqued pistol cartridge it might as well be 32 acp. born in 1899 3 years and 6 years before the others, zero recoil.
but really 45 GAP is where its at.
I always vote, and encourage others the same way you encouraged me. Too many otherwise intelligent citizens don't realize how threatened their rights could be in 2021.
For the umpteenth time on GT forums let me announce my steadfast advocacy for a striker-fired .327sig caliber pistol in full, compact, sub-compact, and single stack models.
If it's within 10% either way with .327 Magnum I'd take that in a NY Minute. Ballistics are great. I can definitely see a 9-shot Glock single stack loaded with the best JHP rounds.
I meant the poll
All first shots are free of prior recoil further reducing the already insignificant time difference factor.
That is so funny I just spit my coffee out.
Check your decimal point there. No one runs 4/100 splits, not even jerry m. You mean 0.40 or 4/10 splits?? For those that think 1/2sec split doesnt matter, well it certainly could if all you have is 1/2sec target aquisition. At 8/10 or 0.80 sec, your target could have moved 10ft plus depending on if he was still or already moving. At 8/10, that means you would have landed two before he gets one, pretty significant. Yes how fast you hit is very important, first hit & each follow up.
Btw, my diff in split between 9mm+p & 40 in identical guns is about the same 1/10sec at 7y, yes distance matters. So what do I get for slightky slower hits, less rds in the gun & pretty much the same ME, if that actuall matters. I have a 40 on my ccw but I am under no illusion its better then my 9 or 45 or 357sig. I just dont have to be quite as picky with ammo but the 40 works fine, as do all the service calibers with good jhp.
