Do jeans and a nice button up work? Its just a job interview with best buy.

Ask yourself this. Do the employees at Best Buy wear jeans to work?

Dress better than the job you're applying for.

    Do you only have jeans?

    What are your other options?

No matter what the job, wear a suit for the interview.

Business casual does not include jeans anywhere I've ever worked.

The job may be business casual, the interview is a suit.

Even in normal business casual understanding, jeans are a no-no.

This. Business and jeans don't go together. Khakis and long sleeves would be as dressed down as I would go.

    ETA:...Good luck on the interview!

When's the interview? I can loan you some loot to pick up a new pair of khakis if need be.

Where I work is supposed to be business casual, but most people wear jeans & a button down/polo everyday. It's an IT/software development environment, so maybe that's why it's a bit more "lax"?

PS Today, I'm actually wearing khakis and a buttondown.

Go to the thrift store and pick up a pair for like $4.

Business casual is at the least khakis and a polo shirt. At the most, I've seen it being a tie, slacks, shirt, cuffs, cuff links... pretty much just minus the jacket.

Do not be underdressed, regardless of to what institution you are applying. It shows a lack of self-respect, respect of employer, and a lack of decorum.

So's the other guy... and he owns a closet full of khaki pants... which makes him more qualified than you. ;)

If I was told to wear 'business casual' to an interview it would be shirt, tie and nice slacks (at a minimum). Seriously... beg, borrow, steal (well, maybe not that one) some nice duds.

    and good luck

What position were you applying for? Lead fry cook, or assistant GM?

Good luck at BB...I'd suggest tan khakis, a dark blue polo, and a yellow name tag for the interview....:tongueout:
