Gans Guns did the machine work and I fit all the internals. I sanded, stippled and painted the grip as well.

Wish I coulda shot my last match with that.... stages were set up to make shooting single stack damn near impossible.

Very Nice!! Some of the purists will cringe, but you have to shoot one to appreciate it. I've had 5 open guns (still have 3 of them).

Yes, that is one advantage. The other advantage is that it clears the ejection port. The more traditional mounts the dot on top of the ejection port, which requires lots of tuning to make the brass clear the gun. This became even more of a problem when the 9mm open guns started coming out.

Speaking of which, what caliber is this gun? Mine are all .38 super (one used to be 9x21), as they were built before 9mm major was allowed.

Years ago, a few guys were experimenting with an upside down CMore. Also, a local guy, Barry Ruane, make an angled mount. They are a little tricky to sight in as your planes are not vertical horizontal, they are diagonal. :wow:

I built this in 9mm. The cmore is indeed mounted on its side. It keeps the dot closer to the side. It makes it easier to go back and forth from a red dot to iron sights.
Thanks for all the compliments. Heres the specs.
    STI frame
    Caspian slide
STI trubor barrel blank with Brazos cuts
Brazos trig group tuned to 1 1/2 trig pull
    Aftec extractor
    EGW ejector
    Dawson hyperdrive firing pin
    Dawson magwell.
    Cheely 90 degree cmore mount
    Ed brown ambi safety
    STI grip safety
    STI slide release.

Thanks. It was a fun project. I've got over 1000rnds through it so far and not one malfunction. It was a little scarey loading 9mm to go about 1400 fps.
