hey guys, i am thinking about building an ar and i was wondering if there are any instructional dvds or books that show the process step by step... i dont mean just putting an upper and lower together, i mean the whole shabang...... anything u can recommend will be happily looked into

As someone that just built an AR15 I can give you a few tips:
1) buy the best AR15 wrench you can find. Mine is stainless steel and it was nice to have a little extra strength.
2) Buy a Vice Block! This would have made my life much easier when I was putting the Barrel on.
3) Use oil to assemble, don't skimp
4) relax, its fun to build something yourself!
I used the ARFCOM build instructions.

Often-overlooked issue: use molybdenum disulfide paste on the barrel nut threads. A little jar is under $10 and will last for dozens of builds.

this^^^ dont buy a dpms tool. they suck. buy a good one.
