I have a dilema!! I am wanting another carry gun for the rotation. I have the S&W 1911ES. very nice, but larger grip would be nice. I have a Kimber Pro Carry SLE. A bit heavy for all day carrying. These are my ideas.

1. buy a series 1 Kimber pro carry in alloy. send to gunsmith and get bobtail, new night sights, flatten and serrate the top of the slide, flush crown the barrel and tune to ensure reliability. Thinking price will be about $1300 to $1600

or

2. Buy the new S&W 1911SC E-Series, price should be about $1200.

Any suggestions on a cheaper way to get what I want? Bobtail and lightweight would be must haves.

That champion operator is nice, but the problem then, I would have to purchase new holsters for a railed gun! More money to spend and time to sit and wait for the holsters.
