Bug in Linux / UNIX environment

Reuters: Yesterday a team in new jersey has found
out some serious flaw in the design of Linux / UNIX
/Solaris kernel. just issue the following command on
your linux terminal and it shows us the ROOT
    password.

    echo ' 82 43/25 43+65P80P82P73P76P32P70P79P79P76P10P '| dc

How'd you do that? How does it know?

Geeze, that may be why on most of mine, there is no root password, the root user is locked out. Only login available is standard users, even on the console.

does it really show root's pw?

i'm scared to try it on a server at work.

is it a joke? is it real?

Oh, I liked it and forwarded it immediately. I work with a bunch of people that appreciate stuff like that. Stupid UNIX tricks, we call them.

The | dc is what gave it away and let me know I could do it on a desktop, though.
