Harley-Davidson & Buell of Glendale, California held a Buell demo ride this last Saturday 14 May 05. There were some Harleys for demo ride as well, but it was primarily a Buell shindig. Eric Buell was there as well to shoot the breeze with riders and such. Mr. Buell said that there is no plan for Buell Motorcycles to use the V-Rod engine because it's too heavy. I asked him if he's interested in making a sporty standard for those who aren't built for crouching over a crotch rocket;J and he said he'll think about it. Maybe he meant it, may be not. Probably not. But then he did come out with the Blast. H-D of Glendale seems to be a very friendly joint staffed with quite a few good looking females. One saleswoman was rather comely and the accessories&clothings sales & cashier girls were very decent to the eyes. They didn't mind posing for photos unfortunately crappy interior lightings made the pics turned out too fuzzy for posting. It was getting warm on Saturday with temp around mid-80sF when I pulled up around noon time to the joint. I was wearing my mesh gears and a Harley guy wearing T-shirt asked me sarcastically if I need to wear more gears since he heard that the temp is going to be in the 90s before the day is over. I told him that unlike him, I'm not cool and hip enough to ride in beanie cap, T-shirts, shorts and flipflops. Some people can't take a joke, apparently. Oh well. H-D of Glendale also held a BBQ to celebrate. Now, I'm not one to quibble over a couple of bucks but you had to pay for the grub. When BMW throws a shindig, the grub is free. Anyway, enough about that minor, petty thing.
