I bought this pistol in the beginning of December from a local gun store. It was used and had been bought new by one of the employees of the gun store I bought it at. I was immaculate when I bought it. The previous owner had only put about 4 or 5 hundred rounds through it. I have put about 600 rounds through it myself. About 225 rounds have been .357 SIG (I bought a factory sig barrel to convert it from .40 to .357). I fired 120 rounds today. When I got home to clean it I noticed the takedown lever is sheared off and missing. The gun still functions fine, I just can't take it apart to clean it. I am not the original owner, so I doubt SIG will warranty the part, but I obviously need to replace it. What do you think of these pics?

I think the failed part was MIM. Does anybody know where I can get a forged or machined replacement?

Why not simply take it back to the shop where it was purchased and ask for it to be replaced? They have a gunsmith or a Sig armorer on staff? If it's a parts failure the company might send them a new replacement part, especially if they're a stocking Sig Sauer dealer.

    Have you asked?

I got hold of SIG today. They sent me a shipping label and instructed me to send the pistol to them. In 2 to 3 weeks I will see what they do.

Gun went to ups today. Just wait and see, apparently.

SIG CS will fix it pretty quickly I'm sure. I bought a used SIG a couple of years ago and quickly realized there was a problem with the sear. I called them up and sent it in. I actually asked for the service plan also to add night sights to it. Within just over one week I had the pistol back and it looked brand new. Has functioned flawlessly since then.
