I find it ironic that this sort of thing is what our politicians choose to focus on right now. There are so many other things much more important.

Vote in the poll on the referenced article page.

Banning colored guns is currently winning.

Come on man! you act like we have a failed government with a failed leader at the wheel. I can see your statement being true if we had a high unemployment rate, failed health care reform system, a teleprompter lying leader talking BS everyday and many crisis all over the world. Dude these pink guns will destroy our country:whistling:

Either I'm losing my mind or this country as a collective conscience is.

    What a waste of time

I don't think guns should be banned based on color. However I do think that they are an incredibly stupid idea.

In a world where we ask toy manufacturers to plug their toy barrels with orange to indicate toy, I don't think brightly colored pistols are a good idea. Personally I think of my pistol as a last line of defense, not a fashion accessory. But then again, I'm not one for $5000 1911s either.... more of a utilitarian I guess.

Personalizing a firearm doesn't make it more dangerous if someone can't keep it secured.
The problem is leaving a firearm aroung where a kid can get their hands on it.

My wife loves her Glock. It got her into shooting and, more importantly, gun safety.

    Yeah ... but they're chasing a skyrocketing women's market, and it's working.

Blue and black are colors too.

    Where will it stop?

Answer: when they've banned them all.

My fiancée gets pissed off when we're at a gun store and the guy at the counter says to her, "Come here I've got something I know you're gonna like" as he grabs a pink or purple snub nose revolver. The look she gives is comical.

BTW, voted in the poll. Such a stupid waste of time!

Agreed... personalizing a firearm doesn't make it more dangerous. It makes it more attractive.

If your 2 year old daughter has all barbie pink toys... she is sort-of programmed to think that things with that color scheme in the house are toys.

I'm a huge proponent of locking up firearms when they aren't on you, but we all know damn well that it is women who buy these pink guns. Women almost all carry them in their purses.

How many times has your wife forgotten her keys, cell phone, purse someplace?

Again, I'm not saying that these are more dangerous than any other firearm... I'm just saying I personally wouldn't choose to "personalize" my firearm to look like a toy.

My wife doesn't carry. Hers stays in the safe.
Hers wasn't personalized to look like a toy. It was much more important......color coordination with her clothing and jewelry when shooting.
