Yeah, it was a hell of a storm. Thankfully missed me, but we spent a bit of time in the bathroom while the tornado sirens were blasting outside and the TV was blaring that emergency alert.

We got more hail in the course of 5 minutes than I have ever seen in my life. There was literally a pile of dime and nickel sized hail on my deck where it had come off the house. I posted some pictures on a local social media group and had 2 different roofers send me private messages asking if I wanted an inspection.

I hope everyone is okay, especially my friends that live there. Tornadoes are one of the many things I don't miss about Texas.

Well when I see this stuff I feel very bad, but it makes me glad I live in "Earthquake Country" California. Sure a quake can be very devastating like the Loma Prieta of 1989, but the big quakes don't happen every year in fact it's been just over 30 years since the last big one hit in the SF Bay Area. I also would rather be surprised, then hafta wait for a tornado barrelin' down right at your house and ya hafta jump in the bathtub or whatever.

Each to their own, choose your own poison. You can't play fate, fate plays you, course infin your gonna be real stupid well Fate really likes Darwin. Wherever you live try to be prepared as best you can, and always remember to kiss your wife(loved one) goodbye when ya leave the house. Live your life, tomorrow is never guaranteed. Later.

Prayers for those that lost homes and property. Thankfully, the only thing I lost was sleep.

Mom is in Richardson. Her power just came back on. Fortunately she had enough oxygen bottles to get through the night. Lost a nice old Magnolia in the front yard, though.

Dallas tornado was classified an EF3 with 140 MPH winds. Caused significant damage to the heart of Dallas and Richardson. The amazing thing is no loss of life and only three injuries reported, none reported as life threatening.

Years ago I lived in that area off of Forrest Lane. It was very populated back then and I’m sure even more now...amazed there were no fatalities.

In Kookifornia, an earthquake can destroy your home. Tornados are worse. Same with hurricanes.

Deepest sympathy to anyone affected by these things.

Well I don't know seems that you have overtaken Ranger1968 with your post. Earthquakes can and have devastated whole cities and very large areas. Tornadoes and Hurricanes have done the same, but probably flooding has done the most damage historically, at least in the USA. Earthquake destroy "A" home, just check the pics I put up recently on the Loma Prieta thread, then judge for yourself. Giving a chit or not giving a chit shouldn't be based on a person's location, that's just plain lame. End of transmission.
