    Praise the Lord!!!

As I said in another thread, Ryan will mop the floor with Joe in a debate.

ETA: To illustrate the fear that the media has of him, ABC news and MSNBC are already smearing him. I saw one article that had a headline that included the Devil.

    I love it!

It's about damn time that conservatism begin its aggressive resurgence. Ideas matter. Paul Ryan can eloquently state the case for conservatism like no other current politician. I imagine the White House is in panic mode.

My only problem with Ryan is he has had a tough time communicating his message to non-conservatives. He will be mercilessly attacked and vilified by Obamunists as a murderer of poor and elderly.

I imagine he will improve there.

Paul Ryan will get even better after 8 years as VP. This is our future President.

I don't know much about him. Seriously. Please bring me to speed.
I have heard he is a tea party advocate. What are his views.

He is the House Budget Committee chairman. He wants to reduce taxes and spending and deficits.

    - cut top tax rates would be cut to 25 percent
    - eliminate all taxes on capital gains, interest, and stock dividends
    - privatize Social Security and Medicare

GRIMLET, he was born in 1970 and is a very articulate speaker on economic issues. He authored the Ryan Budget Plan and has been the "smart" guy in the House since 1999. His strength seems to be economics, but he seems pretty solid on defense and the Constitution, including gun owner rights. He is the ideas guy for the GOP.

He also has been a target for Obama on budget arguments. He has defended himself superbly. He will not cower from an attack, and does it eloquently.

He's a young family man that is very energetic and representative of what I think a younger ideal of older Reagan would be.

I believe it changes the electoral math for a win!

If Ryan brings his home state…

We can win without NV, OH or PA.

    With the usual suspects,

    and

    CO (ahead 5 points)
    NH
    FL
    NC
    VA

    It's OVER. 277-261, Romney.

It Romney can bring MI, add 16.
    OH, 18
PA and its bitter clingers  20

    And its a landslide, 311-227

Ryan is well liked in WI, by conservatives anyway. I think he is a better choice than just about anyone, Rubio MAY of been a tad above, maybe. Regardless, the smear machine will be working overtime against them.

FISCAL CONSERVATIVE. I hope he's allowed to follow through with his ideas and have some influence in our budgetary matters. I hope he doesn't get derailed, but it will be a very difficult going against the 'social conservatives' and 'fiscal liberals'.

    Hope for the best.

Great choice! I worry how he will counter the coming Obama/socialist firestorm trying to destroy him personally.

For example...how will he defend his vote for Tarp and the auto bailout?

He will probably be accused of murder as well?

I would think the village idiot, Biden, will have his butt handed to him in the first debate.

I think this will be a game-changer. This will help shift the conversation from Bain and Romney's richie-rich background to the economy and debt. GOP needs to hammer this home.

Romney is reserved in campaigning,Paul will be a pitbull.
Can't wait to see him debating Doofus Biden.
This could even cause Obama to dump Biden for someone else.

Seems to me Ryan was the clear choice.

    He's conservative but not insane
At times he is simply great on TV, a little work and he will be sensational all the time
    The Wisconsin angle is big
As others have said Biden had better work on some jokes and stories because on the merits he will be chocked out in debates

    Really good move IMO.

The only way Joe Biden has a chance in that debate will be if the moderators limit the questions to opinions about cats and Metamucil.

The first decision of the Romney Presidency is an excellent one.

The media will attack the Ryan budget but where’s the Democrat budget. That’s right, they have been running a $1 Trillion/year deficit without a budget for 3 years; a dereliction of duty.

Then there is Joe Biden. Poor Joe, at least he is from Scranton; I know Scranton unlike the murky past of Obama. Joe had brain damage from 2 aneurisms and cannot control his mouth. God help us if Joe Biden ever becomes President; Joe is not up to snuff.
