Congratulations on your new G42. Ive never seen for sale that I can remember a 001 serial number Glock?
I was ready to walk away and shop somewhere else for another one, a non-display model, until I flipped it over and saw the serial number... then I knew in an instant that it was coming home with me

Doc do you have a mag with the pinkie extension?
Which do you prefer?
Pinkie or flat?
I do have a couple of mags with the Pierce +1 pinky extender on them and I really like the full grip, I also feel the pinky extenders noticeably reduce the felt recoil.. but the OEM magazines are better for concealment. It's good to have both choices for however you want to carry on any given day.

For "deep concealment" I use MagGuts in my OME mag with the OEM flush-fit baseplate. It also increase the capacity by one round but without increasing the physical length of the magazine or affecting the reliability of the gun in any way. That way you can have 7+1 rounds with Pearce+1 for secure grip as well as with a flush-fit mag for deep concealment.

When I carry my G42, I always carry a spare back-up magazine with Vickers+2, so I will have 8x2=16 rounds of Underwood 90gr XTP "+P" to protect me.

Mine's less than a month old, too. There are smaller 380's but the 42 is so much fun to shoot. It shoots like a real gun, and it is plenty small enough to conceal. Here's what mine did at 25 yards with a box of my full-power, range-scrap, powder-coated reloads. I'm very happy with my choice of 380's.

Hey dresser,
Looks like you make cheap targets like mine. I lay a roll of duct tape on cardboard and spritz a little paint in the hole…..

Some who are concerned about the low capacity, carry with the OEM magazine for better concealment, but also carry an extended mag in the event more ammo is needed. Me, I'm happy carrying 6 + 1 in my 42. Great gun.

I don't feel 7 rounds are a handicap. People who call on a pocket pistol to provide close area denial from a mob (with a double-stack mag) are barking up the wrong tree. If you think you need that carry a G26.
I don't feel that 7 rounds is a handicap under almost any circumstances, if one carries at least a couple of reloads and shoots the gun a lot. I had Milt Sparks make me a D-4C for two Glock 42 magazines. It's an extremely easy gun to shoot well and quickly, even at distance.
