Okay so I was at the gun store today looking for another 42... but they only had the display model... now normally I don't buy those as they've been handled by everyone and their family...but in this case it had a really cool serial number (four letters then 001) and it looked to be in excellent shape so it left the store with me, along with two boxes of ammo...took it right to the range...straight out of the box with some MagTech 95gr FMJ ammo..

... and I'm very pleased to report there were absolutely NO malfunctions of any kind whatsoever in the entire 100 rounds I shot through it today... in fact I was shocked when all six rounds from the first magazine were in the red bullseye at 33 ft away..

Have to add a little bit more... really loving this little gun, it's the perfect size for me and its very soft recoil, definitely not snappy like a 9mm, easy to get accurate follow-up shots...dead on accurate...super easy to tear down and clean as well and the firing pin channel is short enough that there's no problem to use a normal size Q-tip in it...yes it's light enough when loaded that you can put it in your front pocket and carry it around all day...LOVE IT.

Congratulations. Because I like statistics, I record type pistol on every daily carry. I have several from which to chose. Then tabulate at year’s end. G42, far and away the most carried.

I love the 42! I just wish it had a 8-10 round factory magazine without changing the size much like the sig p365
I don't feel 7 rounds are a handicap. People who call on a pocket pistol to provide close area denial from a mob (with a double-stack mag) are barking up the wrong tree. If you think you need that carry a G26.

Pocket pistols are evolving and I like their benefits…less recoil, optic ready, night sights, more capacity, modular grips/slides, etc….while still remaining small and lightweight

i don’t think it’s to much to ask to have a little more modern amenities in the 42. It’s already a great gun

It probably shot without a hiccup because it WAS a display model. Everyone had racked the slide enough to break it in. Probably saved you $75 in ammo! I love me 42 but it definitely had to be broken in.
Yea, could be, I thought about that...gave it a very good inspection before buying and it didn't have a scratch on it, looks perfect, that's the only reason I agreed to the display model...well, that and the cool serial number. :)

Congrats on your G42 with such a cool serial number.
The G42 is definitely one of my favorite Glocks. I use MagGuts+1 in the magazine carried in the gun, so it allows me to carry 7+1 rounds of Underwood 90gr XTP "+P" in the gun without extending the physical size of the OEM mag.

I bought one about 6 months into production of this new model(the G42). And must of put 500 rounds of various hollow points, factory loads thru it and the rest ball ammo. It never jammed shot supurb. Like an idiot i sold it . After testing with all those different carry loads. I must of shot 1,200 rounds out of it. Box stock except for the pinkie extensions. Either Glock or pierce.
Ive since bought another, this one used for cheap. I m not getting rid of this one! Too good a gun!
