From carry issues, thread about California residents open carrying in resteraunts: "The Brady Campaign to prevent gun violence does not buy it. They do not see why anyone except police should be bearing arms in public, even if they have the right to." If memory serves, Brady was the dude that took a bullet for Reagan and got paralyzed. The guy who shot the president had just bought the gun. Brady (and his wife I think) pushed hard for the 2 week waiting period, arguing that alone would have prevent Reagan's attack. What I don't understand is, how in the heck did the "Brady Campaign" go from a 2 week background check, to the definitive picture of anit-gun "guns are evil" movement today??? Is Brady and his wife still the spearheaders? Or did somewhere along the way, did it begin to take a life of its own and spiral out of control?
