I don't know enough about Bradley Cooper's personal views but I can see him in this role and think it could certainly have been cast worse.

That was incredibly fast. Not sure if that's a good thing to have a movie about it, or bad bc they are just looking to score some money.....

Im looking forward to it. I like him as an actor. I think i had heard the rumor about him playing Chris Kyle a while back, so its not really an out of the blue thing

He has surprised me as an actor to be honest. He has been getting a big push the last few years and deservedly so.

I like him as an actor, he's been good in everything I've seen him in. Even did a good job as Face in 'The A-Team' a couple years back

I'm not real clear on the issue, but I think this was already in the works long before the recent tragic incident.

And I think Cooper is an excellent choice.

    Reported by Entertainment Weekly
When asked about whether now was the appropriate time to make this movie happen, Cooper said it was, and added that in addition to producing, he planned on portraying Kyle. “I’m going to meet with the writers and producers today to talk about, number one what we can do for his family, and number two, how we can speed up the process and really try to make this movie,” he said. “His story first of all really needs to be told, and it’s also relevant on two fronts: gun control [emphasis added] and the need to address the many soldiers who are coming back with PTSD. Medicine has evolved to such a state — soldiers are coming back and they’re going to assimilate into the culture and if we don’t address the mental state along with the physical state it’s going to be a problem.

Hopefully he does not make this about gun control and disarming vets or people suffering from PTSD. Stick to the story. Plenty to make an awesome tribute movie.

But I do not hold much hope for Hollywood libs. Too bad Dean Cain does not look like a Texan. At least he is someone who voices support for guns and has personal experience with Chris and would want to do honor to his memory.

If you don't mind my asking, why would this matter? HH

If an actor was anti-gun, anti2a, anti-mil and they played the role I think that would be an issue for me. I'm absolutely not saying that is the case here, but if it were I would take issue with it.

Because this is GNG. Acting skill has absolutely no bearing on whether an actor is any good. It all depends on their personal views outside of their job.

It its relevant because Bradley Cooper will produce and star in it and can put his spin on it. So his attitude towards guns and the military can be very important to how this story is told.

If that is the case, he owns the rights and the story is his to do with as he pleases. That's how America works. HH

I would be very much looking forward to the Lone Survivor
movie if antigun Marky Mark wasn't being passed off as Marcus Luttrell

I am a fan of Bradley Cooper and hope this movie is a very good fitting tribute.

it will have an anti gun slant , Mr Cooper would do fine playing lance armstrong , but i have the sneeking feeling this will be crap . his niche is funny , comic roles . a slickster persona , i have serious doubts he can pull it off ,but atleast they did not pick Will Smith ,

I look forward to the movie. It will suffer from not having him there to give advice, but maybe they can get people who knew him.

A slick persona and comedy may not fit Chris Kyle, I don't know, but they aren't out of place in playing a military character. Reality isn't nearly as serious in the military as in military movies.
