Wow! If that is real, I've never seen anything as big. I saw the national geographic special on Hogzilla, but this thing outmasses even that monster. Incredible, I didnt think there was animal who could take eight .50 cal shots!

Ive seen this in the past...dont recall that kid being in the picture...but there were other photos of the backhoe liftin it...and they supposedly burried it....was on national geographic channel one time... The went out to dig up the bones....pretty big too, but the experts said it was probably a wee bit smaller than the photos claimed.

I could be wrong...but the timeline fits the bill and how many monsters were shot in that timeframe, hehe.

It looks like a forced perspective shot.

The camera is up close to the hog and the boy is actually several feet behind the hog. When looked at in a two dimensional photograph where there is no depth perception the closer object appears huge compared to the farther back object.

The kid should have used Extreme Shock ammo. One shot of 32ACP is all it would have taken. I saw it on TV once.

(Eyebrows to hair line)- This giant pig was *raised* on a 'preserve'?

Eight (8) rnds of .50 caliber handgun ammo?

Dunno, folks, but my hunting experience- limited, I agree when it comes to giant pigs- and something about this story caused the pegging the BS meter.

That snopes article is about Hogzilla (shot in GA), this pig is supposedly even larger and shot in AL.

    2 different pigs.

Anyhow when I first saw the picture I thought it was photo shopped, but if they really do have witnesses and it's weight on a certified scale, then it may be true.
