Does anyone know if you can carry a pistol (glock 20) while bowhunting in either of the states for elk? Last year I was in Oregon, 30 miles from the nearest road/car/house when a HUGE lion jumped out of a tree about 20 yards from me. Scared the
you-know-what out of me!!!!!;P After that I spent more time looking in the trees than looking for elk ;g

Yes, in Oregon you can carry firearm while bowhunting. The regulation is on pg. 12 of the 2004 big game regs-www.dfw.state.or.us/ODFWhtml/ Regulations/2004_huntreg.pdf

I saw a big kitty one year while I was bowhunting around Summer Lake a while ago. You're right, it's pretty freaky stuff when you have a quiver full of broadheads.;c
