Any other lovers of the only truly American Spirit? I was introduced to bourbon 30 some years ago by a golfing buddy who was from England. He said we Americans didn't know what a good thing we had. I like it two fingers and one big ice cube in a low tumbler.
Some of my favorites: Elijah Craig, Buffalo Trace, Old Grand Dad, Wild Turkey Russell's Reserve and Knob Creek. And no Jack Daniels is not bourbon, good stuff but it is Tennessee whiskey.
A great source of information: http://www.straightbourbon.com/ubbthreads/index.php?Cat=

I am partial to Johhny Walker Blue, yes I know its scotch whisky. dad bought a bottle of it for me when I turned 21. He said if I'm gonna drink I need ot drink the best.

As far as bourbon goes, I like Knob Creek, or wild turkey.

I'm a die hard Maker's Mark fan. I know its gotten a little trendy as of late, but I still like it.

Booker's, Knob Creek, and . . . for when I don't care if I'm drinking rough stuff, Ezra Brooks. I like Maker's for mixing.

Being from Virginia, I grew up drinking bourbon. I like most "good" bourbon but my favorite would have to be knob creek. I don't drink liquor much any more, drank a lot in college and now I drink a few beers a week. I love to drink bourbon straight with a couple ice cubes. If I'm mixing it bourbon and gingers are good and my all time favorite mint juleps!

My vote goes to old grand dad, which im told I call "ol' gran' pappy" when I've had too much. Still in college BTW, Old Crow is VERY popular because of the price around here, not so popular in the morning however.

Bourbon is OK. I much prefer Tenesse Whiskey (Jack and Dick). If I have to drink bourbon I prefer Conecuh Ridge or Makers Mark.

Bourbon and I are old friends.

You could say it's a love hate relationship.

I like Tenessee whiskey, Scotch, and Irish whiskey as well.

It's just that they don't always like me.

Excuse my being a virtual neophite in the whiskey realm, but what is the true difference between bourbon whiskey, Canadian whiskey, Tennessee whisket and sour mash whiskey?

Has anyone tried or recommend Pendleton's Candaian Whiskey?

I'm a big Jim Beam fan when it comes to mixing, but for drinking straight, I like the Maker's mark as well. If we want to expand to other whiskey (whisky) types I like Crown Royal. Haven't had enough exposure to scotch to have a favorite but I do like the stuff.

deep down though, I'm still a beer drinker.

Don't know if it's bourbon or whiskey, but when it comes to sipping it straight, I really like Southern Comfort...100 proof. Really smooth for as strong as it is.
