Hey everyone :wavey:. Just wanted to say hi, as I am a new forum member and Glock owner. I recently purchased my first gun ever--a Gen 4 Glock 17. I work a lot, so I haven't had a chance to take it to the range. However, that has not stopped me from purchasing some upgrades in the interim--Glock night sights, StreamLight TR2s, etc.

I was wondering if anyone has purchased a magwell for their Gen4 glock and how well it fit. I read somewhere that the current Magwells available will not fit Gen 4's.

Congrats. The G17 Gen4 was my first Glock too. I've been using 124gr and it shoots like a dream.

You might want to shoot it before you screw it up and wonder why it doesn't work.

Wow--that's awefully friendly of you. However, assuming you were just trying to be insightful, I have not modified the gun in a way that can't instantly be undone. It takes 2 seconds to remove the StreamLight light/laser. The night sights were installed by the dealer. I have no plans of modifying any mechanical parts of the gun.

Excellent choice, you will not regret getting the Glock 17.

Warning: This is addictive and you will soon be looking for a companion for your Glock 17.

    Welcome to GT!

  12. Congrats!!!

Shoot the gun before you buy many upgrades.

I know I bought the TLR-2 and shot the gun once with it. Now the TLR2 is for sale because I did not like it.

    Night sights are a must.

There are many opinions and many ideas, most of all shoot it and love it.

    Nice choice.

I know what you mean. I took an intro to handguns and safety course, for necessary training and also to see what kind of gun might best suit me. I'm about 5'3", and standing next to people who were on average around 5'7" while firing the guns was interesting. The cases were binging me upside the head and I could feel the gun powder flying towards me---and I was grinning like the Cheshire cat the whole time. I'm already planning my next purchase and I haven't even shot this gun yet. God help me.

Congrats! I bought my first G17 about 20 years ago. Traded it in on a G19 a few years later. That is my EDC to this day. I have some Truglo sights on it and love it. Also, I have a G26 for back-up.

I just bought a Gen 4 G17. Let me know how the TLR-2 works out. I almost got one with my new G17 but backed out at the last minute. I wanted to do a little home work first. I plan on using it for home security so I'm not worried about carry or bulk.
