Since I have heard of some complaints regarding Gen4, which generation is the best? He is not opposed to buying used. . .

Let him hold and shoot a Gen 3 and a Gen 4 and see what one he likes the best. Tell him if he wants a Gen 4 to wait a month or two or have him order one with the new ejector already in it..

You guys do know the Gen 3's are having ejecting problems too dont you? Glock now has the fix for the Gen 4's but not the Gen 3's.

Do you like your boss?

And also what plans you have for your career in the immediate future and how much impact your boss can/will have on those plans.

BTW, a Gen. 3. Suggest a LE trade-in if you want to show how fiscally responsible you are. :)

Some of the guys on this site told me gen 3, don't do it. Get a gen 4, so if anything goes wrong(typical erratic ejection and/or stovepipes) you can send it to glock and get the new ejector and RSA. Glock does not have a fix for the problems that the recent production gen 3 9mm's are having.

I found out the hard way, I got a gen 3 g19, that is now being exchanged for a gen 4 g19 by glock for no extra charge to me.

*Bottom line, I should have done my research before jumping in head first. I have nobody to blame but myself, obviously. :). Good luck to you and your boss.

Here's what I would like to know, everybody saying Gen 3's have any of you shot a Gen 4 G19? 3 months ago I would of said Gen 3 becasue of all the stuff I was reading on here. But I decided to go out and buy a Gen4 G19 and see for myself how they were. Now I have to say I like it alot more then all my Gen 3's. I like the feel of the glock in my hands with no back strap and I like the bigger mag release..

Gen 3 G19 is what I have, and as such it is the only one I can recommend. FWIW, a local gun store here will accept Gen 3's in trade on a new Gen 4 (or whatever gun you like), but will not touch a Gen 4 on a trade on anything. "Don't need the headaches" was the quote I believe. Anyhow, such is life, fair or not.
