I went to an interview in the really 90's for a sales job. Turned out to be a mass pitch to sell these door to door. I walked out.

Bose has always been overpriced, paying for the name with old technology, but it is definitely worth more than $8. That is a deal. The old saying used to be "no highs, no lows, must be BOSE"

I have one and the stupid "no highs no lows" BS is just that. Mine sounds really good. The OP got a tremendous deal.

My parents had one in the kitchen from the mid 90’s and have upgraded over the years. I think the shorter model with CD player was $600 new and the tall air model was $1100. They were about as top of the line as you could get for years. For the price you paid enjoy.

I have one and it was wonderful in Seattle. When we moved to the mountains upon retirement it has been in storage here in the home for near 20 years as we receive maybe 4 stations none worth listening to. We are consumed by You Tube, and the Net. I may one day sell or Gift it.

    ^This.

Any company that (as part of their contract with retailers) won't allow their equipment to be set up where it can be compared with other sound systems and advertises endorsements by dentists instead of audiophiles deserves to be...bypassed.

It's not audiophile quality equipment, for sure. But for the casual listener, it packs a pretty good punch in a small package. The bass is artificial, but powerful.

I agree. The only people that say that have either never heard one or are just parroting what they’ve heard others say.

I have two of the little ones. One that’s in my garage that my mom left me when she passed away and I liked it so much I found a second one for a song (not $8 though) for the back porch. Great sound for such a small footprint.
